There are a number of resources available to families to help during Remote Learning.

 

  • Food/Meals/Economic Assistance:

    • All CPS school sites will serve as food distribution sites for CPS students. Food pick-up will take place outside of the school building and begins at every school on Tuesday, March 17 and is scheduled from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. Monday through Friday. CPS families can pick-up three days worth of meals at time, each with two meals per child.     • New Hope Food Pantry

    • Friendship Center Lincoln Square/Albany Park 

    • Irving Park Community Food Pantry 

    • Greater Chicago Food Depository: find a food bank location near you

    • You can apply for unemployment insurance if you’re without access to paid sick leave or unable to work because of COVID-19: Call IDES at 1-800-244-5631 or visit https://www2.illinois.gov/ides

    • Utilities: Governor Pritzker called for a moratorium on shutoffs for all utility companies (including energy, telecom, and water), and several have announced plans to maintain services and waive late payment fees.

    • Housing: Cook County is suspending court-ordered evictions. You can also apply for Emergency Rental Assistance

    • Medicaid: The Pritzker administration is filing a federal waiver to expand Medicaid services
