Dear Beaubien Elementary Parents and Families,
The district was recently made aware that two people who were present at Beaubien on April 21st have tested positive for COVID-19. Out of an abundance of caution, impacted students will move to remote learning. The parents of all impacted students have already been contacted. I am sending this letter for your awareness, and you do not need to take any action at this time.
The best way to keep you and your child safe from COVID-19 is to get vaccinated. Vaccines are safe, effective, and available to everyone ages five and up. In addition, vaccinated students who are exposed to COVID-19 can avoid quarantine and stay in the classroom as long as they remain without symptoms.
To find a vaccine appointment, search http://vaccines.gov, text your ZIP code to 438829, call 1-800-232-0233, or visit cps.edu/vaccinations. CPS also strongly encourages families to sign their child up for weekly COVID-19 testing at school by visiting color.com/readycheckgo-cps. If you need help locating medical care or have any CPS-specific questions, please visit cps.edu or reach out to the Healthy CPS Hotline at 773-553-KIDS (5437), which is staffed 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
If your child tested positive for COVID-19, please complete this self-report form.
If you are interested in having your child participate in weekly COVID testing, please follow this link https://home.color.com/covid/sign-up/start… and complete the registration process. Our COVID testing day is typically on Monday. The outside organization code is: 609796
Thank you for your support and patience as the district investigates this situation.
