Dear Beaubien Families,

What a BEAUTIFUL Day!  For those of you who celebrate Easter, I hope you were able to enjoy the sunshine and celebrate with your family. We have been so fortunate with a lovely Spring.  I can’t tell you how much we love hearing the cheers from our students every time outdoor recess is announced. It is music to our ears! I hope everyone had a well deserved sunny and safe Spring Break!  The Kotis family had a very special Spring Break.  We are thrilled to announce the arrival of Paisios Kotis last Tuesday, March 30th.  Everyone is now home and doing great!

4th Quarter Return to School

The opt in window to return to in person learning for 4th Quarter is now closed. If you opted your child for in person learning for the 4th quarter, your child will return to in person learning on Monday, April 19, 2021. Due to over 55% of our students returning, we will be going to a Pod A (Monday & Tuesday) and Pod B (Thursday & Friday) schedule.  All students except for PreK and our Cluster program will be remote on Wednesday.   Homeroom teachers will be sending out pod assignments by Tuesday, April, 6th.

Report Card Virtual Conferences

Report card virtual conferences will be held on Wednesday, 21st.  Homeroom teachers will be reaching out to schedule your time to meet. We need 100% participation from all families!

Student Covid Testing

Thank you to those families who have submitted the consent form for student COVID testing.  Students are only eligible for testing if they are 10 years and 1 day old or older and if they are in person on the day testing occurs.  If you receive an email stating that your child is being tested on a day of non-in person attendance, please disregard and DO NOT bring your child to school to be tested.  Testing is NOT required and there are no repercussions if you do not want to have your child tested.

Travel Reminder –UPDATED —

We want to remind families who are planning to return in-person of CPS’ policy on travel. If you travel internationally or to a state with widespread COVID transmission as indicated in the Chicago Emergency Travel Order (which has been revised with states such as Wisconsin, Indiana, and Michigan no longer requiring a quarantine) you are required to quarantine for 10 days or the student needs to provide a negative COVID test within 72 hours of returning. Please take a picture of the negative COVID test and send it to your child’s homeroom teacher. We appreciate every family’s commitment to these guidelines to keep our learning community safe. Please also note that children are not exempt from this requirement – please see the attached flier for more information.  CPS Travel Requirement Flier

Health Screener

Be sure that you have completed the CPS health screener by 7:30 each morning your child is scheduled to enter our school.  We ALL need to answer the screener truthfully to help keep students, staff and families staff.  If your child has failed the health screener, you MUST keep your child at home.

Everyone at Beaubien appreciates your support!  Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.  You can reach me by phone at 773-534-3500 or by email at mhludford@cps.edu

Warm regards,
