On behalf of Beaubien Staff, we hope you and your loved ones have enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving break. School resumes on Monday and we look forward to welcoming our students back to school. Below are a few reminders for the upcoming weeks.
COVID Safety Precautions
Chicago, like much of the rest of the country, has experienced an increase in COVID-19 cases in recent weeks. With many families traveling or gathering indoors with larger groups during the Thanksgiving holiday, we encourage all students and families to carefully monitor symptoms and to take advantage of free COVID testing and vaccination opportunities. For additional information, families are encouraged to review the City of Chicago COVID Dashboard for important information. If your child is presenting any COVID symptoms they must stay home and obtain a negative COVID Test or a Dr. Note with an explanation of symptoms. Please review sick protocol for families. If your child or someone in the household tests positive for COVID, please notify the school at 773-534-3500 and self report it here: CPS SELF REPORT – COVID. Here is the process for when someone in the school tests positive: PROTOCOL FOR A POSITIVE CASE and information on the contact tracing process can be viewed here: CONTACT TRACING PROCESS
As a reminder, all families should remain apprised of the regular updates provided by the Chicago Travel Advisory. Families are expected to review and follow these guidelines. If you visited an Orange state during your travels, students are expected to get tested and quarantine for 7 days. Thank you for helping us maintain a healthy, in-person school environment for students and staff. Regardless of vaccination status, anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 must stay home from school, isolate and seek testing.
COVID Testing Continues
CPS continues to offer free COVID TESTING at school. Testing is available at Beaubien on Mondays during the school day. To keep everyone safe and reduce classrooms from quarantine, we are striving for 100% participation for all students and staff. Please click the link above to register your child.
Cold Weather Preparations
As we return from fall break, colder weather is upon us. Please help your children prepare their clothing so that they can comfortably and safely enjoy outdoor experiences and play. Students go outside for recess daily and are also outdoors during other portions of their day, unless extreme weather prevents this. To help keep our students safe and able to fully enjoy their outdoor time, students are encouraged to dress warmly. Hats, gloves, winter coats, snow pants and boots are strongly encouraged.
We hope you enjoyed a wonderful fall break filled with joy and relaxation.
