Hello Beaubien Bulldog Families!!!!
 
Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! It is hard to believe, but we are only a few weeks away from the first ever first day of virtual school on Tuesday, September 8th. I hope your summer has been filled with joy, and that you and your family have been able to rejuvenate and relax over the summer break the best you can given what is happening in our world.
 
I know the question everyone’s asking…. What is remote learning going to look like for my family? I wish I had details for you, but at this time I am waiting for CPS to release their final guidelines for schools. As soon as I have the information, I will be communicating with you as well as your child’s homeroom teacher. Speaking of homeroom teachers, the wait is almost over! The Parent Portal in ASPEN will be open soon. You will be able to login and see what room your child will be in. If you don’t have access to ASPEN, please call the main office after August 26th and we can let you know your child’s homeroom.
 
Instead of a supply drop off, we will be having a supply pick up! Date to be determined. Teachers will be putting together items from school that your child will need to make remote learning successful. If you are in need of a Chromebook, please fill out the SY20-21 Beaubien Chromebook Request Form 
and we will have one ready to be picked up during supply pick up. Please keep in mind that our Chromebooks were purchased through our Beaubien budget and not given to us by CPS. Please only request one if you do not have a device at home.
School supply lists are available on our website. Feel free to click this link and access the grade level using the right columns. Keep in mind that these lists were made before we knew that we would be learning at home for at least the first quarter. This means that you will see items like Clorox wipes or Kleenex that clearly won’t be needed until we return in person and, of course, if they are back in stock!
 
Communication and involvement is extremely important to us at Beaubien. All homeroom teachers will be setting up Google “Meetings” with all families during the week of August 31st to review expectations and answer any questions you may have. PLEASE be sure to sign up on our school website at www.beaubienelementary.org as well as “Like” us on our Beaubien PTO Facebook page. You can also find us on Twitter @ JBBElementary. All updates, current events and opportunities for you to get involved in our school community will be posted on these sites.
