Dear Beaubien Families,
It amazes me every year how fast the school year ends. I want to congratulate our 8th grade students on their graduation and wish them the very best as they move on to high schools all over the city. We are SO proud of you! You will always be a Beaubien Bulldog, please come back to share all of your amazing accomplishments!
A BIG shout out to our mighty PTO. The Spring Fling was not only a ton of fun, but raised close to $18,000 for our school. THANK YOU for all your help and THANK YOU for those who attended!
Our Bulldog community has so much to be proud of! Our students have continued to excel in all academic areas because of their hard work, our dedicated staff and your guidance at home. Let’s keep up the momentum over summer. Research has shown that students suffer from the “summer slide” if they don’t read, write and practice math skills during the summer break. Although summer work is not mandatory, it is crucial for a student’s continued academic growth. Please be sure to have your children read for at least 30 minutes every day and continue to be engaged in educational activities.
We are already planning for the 2017-2018 school year. Part of the planning includes class placement for each student. Each grade level team plays an integral role in placing students in the best educational setting for each child. We examine academic performance, social skills, class composition, and special services. Currently, we do not have a school budget. Due to this, teacher assignments are on hold. To avoid confusion, we will not be introducing our students to their new teachers on the last day of school. Homerooms will be posted on the Parent Portal in mid-August and available at our Welcome Back School Picnic on Thursday, August 31st. Supply lists will be the same across grade levels and will be distributed on the last day of school.
Please make sure to check backpacks for important information coming home in the next few weeks. As always, you can also get school information on our website, Twitter, and the PTO Facebook page for reminders of important dates. This will be our last printed version of the Banner as we will be going 100% electronic starting in the fall. A very BIG thank you to all parents and volunteers who have helped us with all events, as well as our staff who have been critical in making them educational, fun and memorable for our students.
Have a safe and fun filled summer!
We Are……..Beaubien Bulldogs!!
