Your children! Over the Thanksgiving break I was able to reflect on things I am truly thankful for and your lovely children are on my list. I just wanted to say how wonderful it has been working with all your children. They are such a marvelous group of students and I look forward to seeing their happy little faces each day. Thank you for sharing them with me.

With December approaching, these last few weeks of the year are going to fly by and we have a lot to cover before winter break.  Just a reminder, the temperature outside is dropping, please send hats and gloves with your children daily for outdoor recess. Label the hats and gloves with your child’s name for easy recovery.

Artsonia: Please consider giving permission for your child’s artwork to be displayed in the school gallery. Everyone received a permission form with a screen Name and parent code to sign up. I have already submitted several pieces of artwork which were photographed to be put on the website. After you give permission, your child’s artwork can then be included in the school gallery. (self portraits, bumpy pumpkins & scarecrows so far) Also their art work can be printed on gifts, which the school will receive $ from for every gift that is purchased. What a great way to earn $ for the school while creating a keepsake of your child’s artwork.  All you need to do is grant permission, sign up with an email and you will be notified every time a new piece of art work is uploaded to the site.

Family Project:  The 1st round of sharing begins on Monday with the family photo album pages. Refer to the sharing schedule that was attached to the directions, for the date your child will be presenting. In addition to completing the photo pages, have your child practice sharing the pages in front of family members, so they are well prepared for what they are going to talk about in front of the class.  If you have any questions about the project, please ask.

Holiday Performance: Our class will be performing in the Holiday Show on Friday, December 23rd at the 8:15 performance. Put the date in your calendars so you don’t miss your child dancing and singing on stage. More information will be forth coming about that day. I’m planning some fun activities for the class, stay tuned.

Scholastic Book Orders: Book orders are due Friday, Dec 9th to insure delivery before winter break. Place your orders online or send in the orders with $. Books make great gift ideas.

Star Folders: There are new sentences to practice for reading fluency in the folders. Remember to have your child read the decodable books 4x over the weekend.

Ms. Krasnoff: We already miss having Ms Krasnoff with us. Thank you for helping your child make the cards for her last day. She was very touched by them. We hope to see her for a visit and wish her good luck in her teaching career.

Questions or concerns please contact me via email kabergl@cps.edu or note in Star Folder
