Common Questions

School Hours: School hours are from 7:45 A.M. to 2:45 P.M. Monday through Friday. Students will not be allowed to enter the building prior to 7:45AM. Please plan for inclement weather and dress your child appropriately to ensure their safety. 

Entry and Dismissal: School hours are from 7:45 A.M. to 2:45 P.M., Monday through Friday. A first bell will sound at 7:40 A.M., at which time all students should line up with their respective classes. A second bell will ring at 7:45 A.M., at which time school officially begins and students should be in their homerooms.

After School Care: The Right Club is a childcare program which operates on the school premises from dismissal until as late as 6:00 pm. Children are given homework assistance and physical fitness activities during this time. Parents may choose the number of days per week a child will attend. Meals and Recess: Breakfast and lunch at Beaubien is available at no cost to all students. Breakfast is served from 7:45 A.M. to 8:00 A.M. Students are able to participate in our hot lunch program or bring a bag lunch from home. Some of our water fountains are sealed off for students so please have students bring a filled, resealable water bottle. Meal menus can be found on our website under the STUDENTS tab  

Absences: Please call the office by 9:00am and let them know. Tell them your student’s first and last name and their teacher’s name or room number so the office can notify the teacher. A written note is needed upon return. Here are sample notes you can use:

If a student exhibits ANY of the following symptoms, please keep your child home. If they come to school, they will be sent to the Care Room and parents will be expected to pick up within 60 minutes.

    Muscle or body aches Headache
    New loss of taste or smell Sore throat
    Congestion or runny nose Nausea or vomiting Diarrhea

Parent Portal/Aspen: The Parent Portal can be used to check a student’s grades, assignments and attendance. Contact the main office to register.

School Gear: T-shirts and other apparel sales are held randomly throughout the year. Orders are placed online and will be delivered to the school. More information can be found on our website HERE.

Communication: Beaubien communications are done online and via email. Visit our website, our Facebook and Twitter pages and sign up for email notices and weekly emails. 

Beaubien Banner: The Beaubien Banner is our quarterly Newsletter. Letters from the Principal, monthly events and general news can be found in every issue. The Beaubien Banner can be found on our website under the Parents tab and emailed to you directly by signing up at the bottom of our website. 

School Events

Welcome Back Picnic and Supply Drop-off: Generally held the Thursday before the first day of classes is our Welcome Back Picnic and Supply Drop-off. Students and families drop off school supplies, see their classroom and meet and greet with the teacher. 

Welcome Breakfast: New parents are encouraged to join seasoned parents at an informal coffee talk to ask questions about the school, PTO and all that is Beaubien.  This is usually held one morning at the end of September.

Open House: Open House is held the second week of school, in the evening. Parents/families and Students are welcome to meet in classrooms to learn about the curriculum for the upcoming year.

School Pictures: School pictures are generally scheduled for a date in late September.  Orders arrive before the holidays.

Walkathon: The Beaubien Walk-a-Thon is the major Fall Fundraiser of the year. Usually held in October, students walk with their classrooms around the school on the sidewalk and raise funds via friend and family sponsored donations.

BooBien Bash: Held at the end of October, the BooBien Bash is an outdoor Harvest and Halloween themed event for all grades. The 6th-8th Grade Harvest Dance is also held the same evening in the school’s 3rd floor gymnasium.

Scholastic Book Fair: Held in November, the book fair is the primary “book raiser” for our library and classroom libraries. There are a wide variety of Scholastic books for all ages available for sale. Profits from the book fair go to the school library and books for teachers. Classrooms visit the fair during the week and are available to shop. Parents are invited to attend the book fair on the day of Parent-Teacher conferences.

STEM Fair: The steps of the Scientific Method are introduced as young as first grade & grades 3-4 do practice for the STEM Fair. Students (6th-8th & 5th grade Options) who qualify participate in an all-school STEM Fair held in our 3rd floor gymnasium in December. Some students go on to participate in the Regional, City and State STEM Fair.

Spring Fling: Our major Spring Fundraiser, this Adults Only evening is held in April or May. An evening of fun, fundraising and silent auction is usually held at a local venue.

The B-Show: Our annual Talent Show held in June. All students are eligible. Auditions are usually held in April.

Spirit Days: Held randomly throughout the year, these are themed-dress up days for students and faculty to have some fun. Pajama Day, Character Day, Crazy Hair Day and School Spirit Days are student favorites.

Dine Out: Set up by our PTO, Dine Out events are held once a month at local restaurants. Dine in or carry-out/deliver and a percentage of the sale benefits the Beaubien PTO.
