That is what we ask our 7th and 8th graders as they get ready for the Reality Fair. What is the Reality Fair you ask? If you haven’t heard of this before, it’s a wonderful project our students take part in every year.

Each student chooses a career and researches what it takes to reach that goal. What, if any college education will they need? How much money will they make? How tough is it in the Real World?

Once a career is researched and chosen that’s where the fair (and fun) begins. Each student is then given their ‘future’. Will they have a spouse? How many children with they have? From there they have their income and have to move through life stations and make financial choices so they can get through a monthly budget without going broke. Sounds easy, right?

It’s a fun dose of reality for our students and volunteers, but for it to be a success we need you!

Volunteers are needed at life stations to ‘role play’ and guide students to bigger and better choices. It can be the whole day or just a few hours. There is no training needed and we’ll even feed you lunch. All we need is your enthusiasm and help!

We’re looking for volunteers that can commit to helping us engage our 7th and 8th graders from 7:45 a.m.-2:45 p.m. on Friday, March 27th.

If you are interested in volunteering for the day or part of the day please contact Jenny Conlon at
