Dear Beaubien Bulldog Families,
We miss you all so much!! Time and time again I keep hearing from our staff how much we miss our students!! It has been great seeing our students on our PTO FB page participating in our 1st ever virtual Spirit Week. I love your school spirit!! I also hope you have been enjoying our nightly teacher read alouds. It has been such fun seeing who is going to be the next reader as well as what they are going to read!
We are so proud of all of our families who have not only been working from home, but also teaching your children. I’ve been trying to work from home every other day and teach my three boys and wow, is it hard!! Give me a class of 30 students over teaching my 3 boys any day!! 🙂 We understand how difficult this time is and want you to know we are here for you!!! Our teachers have been working with one another to plan for remote learning which will start after Spring Break on Monday, April 13th. These plans will be communicated to all families early next week, so please stay tuned for more details. If you haven’t already been in touch with your child’s homeroom teacher, please contact him/her immediately via email to find out what assignments the class has been working on. You can obtain all email addresses on our website HERE.
We will be lending out our school Dell chromebooks for take home use to students who DO NOT have access to a device. ONLY ONE PER FAMILY – IF NEEDED. Unfortunately, we do not have enough devices for everyone and please note, these are not CPS devices. These are our own school devices that we count on during the regular school year. We will need to get them back when school resumes in the same condition we are giving them out.
Our goal is to ensure our students are able to do remote online learning moving forward. We understand many students already have access to a device and/or won’t want the liability of the school’s chromebook during the closure, but if you need the device please see the schedule below and fill out THIS REQUEST FORM. This distribution (4/8 and 4/9) is designed for PARENTS (please do not bring your children) to come to retrieve, sign a Permission Slip and take the chromebook & charger. Distribution will take place this coming week outside of Door 7 near the playground. For safety reasons and to ensure our technology is properly accounted for, we put together the guidelines below to keep everyone safe.
- We will have cones set up 6 feet apart leading up to the Door 7, this will create a line, but also practice social distancing at the same time.
- When you reach the 1st spot in line, your Chromebook/charger will be retrieved and placed on a table for pick up, while you fill out the permission slip and place it in the box.
- The permission slip details the responsibility of the device & policies listed below Chicago Public Schools – Acceptable Use Policy. Please also fill out this REQUEST FORM so we can make sure we have enough devices ready to distribute.
- Please bring your own pen to fill out the form in case you can’t print one from home.
*Remember we are unable to let anyone in the building, so we feel this is the best option to distribute the Chromebooks. Please know, these are the only 2 days we will be passing them out.
